Action Ministries announced that it joins the Feed the Hungry Foundation in support of the 2012 Publix "Food for Sharing" program. The Food for Sharing program provides food for hundreds of hungry families through generous donations from shoppers, a major portion of which goes to Feed the Hungry Foundation for distribution throughout the year. At a special Veterans Day event Monday at VFW Post #5255 in Lawrenceville, Action Ministries CEO John Moeller announced that Action Ministries, along with grant partner HOPE Atlanta, have been awarded a $1 million grant by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Hank Woolard of Oak Grove UMC, Decatur, sent the following update on the Thang Family: The Thang family -- Kum, Shay, and Eilisor -- arrived in our community just over two years ago. Their journey began in Thailand, after being forced out of Burma/Myanmar. They migrated to Malaysia and applied through the Church World Service (CWS) for approval to come to the USA.
